(More than) Fifty Shades of Gray

Aug 5, 2015

So, as you know by now, I bought a home. If you're new and didn't know this, you can read about it here.
And woooweee, picking a paint color is a doozie. I'm doing the same gray basically on every wall except one guest room that is already gray. Keeping it neutral for now so that I can add pops of color and pattern with decor. Some of my sample chips below.

I really want to do a pop of color in a few of the closets. I'm thinking a peach or coral color. Still somewhat iffy on a color to choose. This was the image that inspired me below.

I finally narrowed it down to Apollo by Valspar (left) & Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore (right) and bought a sample of each to put a swatch on the walls.

Putting a swatch of each on my walls was a huge help! I couldn't tell a difference in the can really, but on the walls it was pretty distinct, and I didn't like the blue that the Apollo seemed to pull. I chose Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. See below for my before pictures. My painter comes on Friday and I move in on Saturday. Stay tuned for the afters!

    1. I know! I can't wait to rid my house of that nonsense and have a fresh palette. Bill The Painter has his work cut out for him.
