Weekend Road Trip from STL to the Indiana Dunes

May 31, 2017

Over the holiday weekend I took a trip to Indiana, specifically the Indiana Dunes, with my boyfriend to celebrate the holiday and our one year anniversary.

We stayed in Chesterton, IN which is 5.5 hours from the St. Louis area and was the perfect distance for a quick getaway to a beach. We spent our time walking along the shore, kayaking, exploring local spots and enjoying some leisurely time. All in all it was a great way to get away and recharge together as a couple. See a few places we ate/sipped/explored and highlights below.

  1. Well, I just about died when I saw that picture on bloglovin. We literally go to New Buffalo & the southern Michigan lake shore line all the time, we just live about an hour away in mid northern Indiana. The Stray Dog rooftop is our favorite. Looks like you guys had a wonderful time!

  2. Seriously SO jealous! I love New Buffalo. If you guys go again, you must check out Redamak's - it's not very far from the main strip of New Buffalo and it's a family favorite of ours for years!

    1. It's such a charming area! We passed that restaurant! It reminded me of a Lambert's or something from the outside, so quaint!
