Friday Best - Moving Weekend

May 25, 2018

It's here! Tomorrow is the big moving day. I've been spending my evenings this week packing/cleaning/organizing. It will be nice to be moving over a long weekend so I have extra time to unpack and settle in. I expect for things to be a state of chaos for quite some time, but slowly it will all get organized and feel like home. Back to my roots!

best DIY
Drop Cloth Curtains -- For a while now I've known that when I move to the farm I wanted to give these curtains a try in the living room. It's a very simple DIY with low cost..so I popped into Lowes on my lunch break and bought two drop cloth canvases to give this a go ($10 per drop cloth).  Jessica has a step by step video saved in her Instagram highlights that I used for my guide. Also, I've always found that Wal-Mart's curtain rod prices can't be beat. I got these simple black ball curtain rods. I'll keep you posted on the final result!

best anniversary + memory
Danny and I had our first date over Memorial Day Weekend two years ago - we met up last minute on a Sunday on the Dairy Queen patio - he came from checking cattle & I came from working in the garden..very laid-back, but we sat and talked for 2+ hours. Last year we celebrated our anniversary with a trip to  Indiana Dunes. This year our actual anniversary is on the 29th (Tuesday) and I would look for us to enjoy a dinner together as residents of the same home. :)

best buy
I stumbled across a deal on Facebook Marketplace that I could not pass up. I found a old school chalkboard (the big green one on a stand) & talked the seller down to $25. I love  Natalie's in her home and hope to use this in the kitchen or maybe in the living room -  like here. Now to work on my handwriting..

best Summer finds
I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!

    1. Aren't they fun?! I'll have low-cost into them if I decide they don't look right, but I'm hoping they will! Fingers crossed. Just went to your blog and see you move soon - good luck to you as well!
