Easter 2019

Apr 28, 2019

An Easter recap post seems like a great time to share a picture of our little sheep herd on the farm - Mabel, Millie & Mac!

Easter is always one of my favorites. Pretty, Spring weather to enjoy with family, pastels to wear, yummy casseroles to eat. I loved all the talk of Easter Joy at mass and the idea of spreading that for the day and year to come.

We kicked our Easter weekend off with a family fish fry on Friday - shed hang outs are always a country favorite.

Then on Saturday we went to a gathering on the Cattleman's side. The weather was perfect. We sat outside for hours - chatting, watching the kids play and hunt eggs, and then dining on tasty food.

Sunday was Easter and we started off at 8 AM mass. It's wild to think that our family of two is well on it's way to becoming a family of four. This Easter pic will look quite different next year.

After mass we headed home for breakfast (but first made a donut stop). We planted a few plants and I made a dish before we headed over to my mom's farm. We planned an afternoon bbq there, including fishing at the pond. My family plus my in-laws were all there to spend the day together. It's so nice that both of our families can get together and jive so well. Certainly a blessing.

Both of our mothers added baby items into our Easter baskets. My Mom even had a scavenger hunt around the farm arranged for all of us to find our baskets this year. So fun! She's a scavenger hunt queen. Mom goals.
Our Easter bags from my mother-in-law read "baby 1" & "baby 2" if you can see that written at the top - love it. Wipes, Easter books and we also got a cow wubanub & sheep wubbanub for our little farmhands.

My Mom also told us that she had a special gift for our babies that we could have now or wait until they were born - so we decided on now ;)
She had two very special teddy bears made for our babes. These are made out of my Dad's shirts. I can remember him wearing these shirts often (the green one was a big go-to of his). Soooo heartwarming & special to have these keepsakes for our babies. My Dad passed 3 years ago and boy do we miss him. I so wish he could be around, here with us, as we added Danny & now two babies to our family.

So, that was our Easter this year!

I am also glad that your kiddos will have a piece of your dad with them at all times too! :)
